artreboot: a secret manifesto (2020)

we don't simply live at the turn of a decade,
cause this is the '20s already...
the first such decade since human remembrance
which directly leads to the unknown – to an unknown future,
cause, for the first time in “history”, we don't wanna know...
this is a new decadence...
a bright and easy one
tastes like secession, though...
or like baklava...
sweet and deep, golden...
and pure...
art is decadent...
cause everything is decadent now... reality is decadent... to start with...
unsustainable in the very first place...
we believe we should NOT fight against this...
but go with it, and have the most of it...
the best of it...
all the beauty which this fleeting reality offers
us to have...
humans are beautiful!
women are beautiful! men are beautiful! LMBTQi people are beautiful!
old people are beautiful! kids are pretty, too, no doubt :)
music is beautiful! art is beautiful! images articulated by humans are beautiful!
trams, vegetables, faces, sunglasses, streets are beautiful!
we are witnesses with cameras and so many creative tools... devices...
only this time there is no posterity...
to whom to transfer the images...
to whom we could address our video messages...
no posterity...
this is the one and only thing to swallow...
which is obviously a good news!
cause once this is done, all is done :)

“consumer society”, the maddest concept on Earth, has won...
that is, the powers that be have won...
media have won...
television has won, facebook has won... netflix has won, let's admit it...
politics have won...
and we humans, artists and thinkers, and “just people”, aka the other party
at the end of the line -- have lost...
posterity, namely...
so, all our “messages” go (fly out) into the void...
but that's not quite true...
cause as they leave our stratosphere... so to speak...
we all see them...
so, we all get to see them, actually :)
that is, we are our own audience...
in our own time!
which is beautiful!
practically: not so good, but not so bad, either
let's live with it!
let's admit that we are decadent!
let's admit that art is decadent! cause reality and life are decadent!
cause this new decade is really something extraordinarily new...
isn't it?
